I can see it. Rainbow Dash can be kinda a thug, and she's definitely the most aggressive (and least intellectual). And they do both have a pet (or toy) turtle (if you count "Dead or Alive" as canon, anyway).

I guess I'm missing... well, something. Don't quite see the point of it, my self.

Are other shows similarly treated in such 'pony' fashion?

This is a blend of the popular TV show my little ponies, the fans are often reffered to as bronies, and, like browncoats, bronies are very devoted to their show. So a mix of a browncoat and a brony, a browny if you will, will produce pictures like these.

I guess i just don't see the point of crossing 'brony' fans w/ 'browncoats'. Seems that the demographics would be a very small cross over section.

But I suppose I dig the imagination part of it all. However, I don't recall such treatment given to Star Wars or any other popular character groups.

I have become addicted to Firefly! "I cannot stop watching it; I will more than likely start watching it over again sometime this week!

When I was searching for fanart of said addiction, I came across a deviation that had the crew of Serenity as ponies ala My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I had been making some ponies with the pony creator and thought I'd do this for poops and giggles. the best part was trying to find cutie marks for them. They are:

Sheppard Book: a bible (obviously...)
Inara: the Chinese kanji for 'Companion' (I hope...)
Wash: dinosaur (it's covered by the jumpsuit...)
Zoe: I believe this is a patch for the independents/Browncoats (please correct me if I'm wrong...)
Mal: Serenity (of course...)
Jayne: a target (just seem to fit to me...)
Kaylee: strawberries (again, it's covered by the jumpsuit...)
Simon: a Caduceus (again, obviously...)
River: I didn't give her one to symbolize what the Academy did to her.

Hope you guys like it! I may post the individual ones at a later time but, for now, enjoy and keep flying..."

Today is the first time I noticed that Adam Baldwin botched his dialogue. He added an extra "What..." just before "Why" to the script. Since Adam Baldwin is Jayne, the director had to let it go into the final cut.

The truth is I like to see new art about Firefly, including absurd artistic ideas such as rapping Mal invading FOX in "Bring Firefly Back" music video. (I'd also like to see a short story about exactly how Jubal Early survived being marooned in outer space with only one tank of compressed air. Or a story about River & Kaylee investigating the precise physics of telepathy while an Alliance spy watches the rebuilding of Serenity. It won't happen until I write the stories myself, but Ponies are happening without me.)
