Word Fun (Again)
Monday, January 12, 2004

Okay, I made a thread, but I got little response. So here it goes again...

Y'know how in Firefly, "'verse" is slang for "universe"? Well, in Greek or Latin, -verse means "view" or "points of view", which is kind of funny, because there are many views in Firefly. Just wanted to make a note.

Keep flyin'!

Maniac- I love looking for roots of words. I have started the Wheel of Time series (Things are going very slow for me), and I have read Harry Potter.

Shiny. I go through my mind and think of words of this type. I love looking for word origins in different places. It's kind of a hobby. Books are the best source, but Firefly has a few of them too. Ever read the wheel of time series, or the harry potter books?

I love this. Thanks for posting it.

Also, I love the word "ruttin'" is as a swear word. It combines the sex of "rutting" with the disgust of "rotten" and its a short gutsy word. Perfect for growling.
