Unfortunate News Update

Ni Hao again, all my fellow Browncoats...

First off I just wanted to thank all of you, from myself & my Dad, for all your best wishes & prayers. He really got a kick out of it when I told him who, and from where, they were all coming from. It really made a difference. I ain't got the words to fully express how good it feels to belong to such an outstanding community.

Dad had his first chemo session last Friday. The nausea side effects kicked his pigu pretty bad from then until today. At the hospital today they hydrated him intravenously, and gave him some better anti-nausea drugs. He left looking better than I've seen him in weeks.

His next session is Monday, but this is supposed to be with some 'friendlier' drugs this time. Then he has a couple weeks off before having to do the 'nasty' ones again.

I can report that it seems there are results from the treatment however. The pain has lessened somewhat already, and he is more functional when the nausea isn't gripping him. When they started the first treatment, there was immediately severe pain from the tumour(s) in his lung. Kind of a good news, bad news situation. The drugs definitely went right to work, but he had to suffer through it a bit.

It's a long road, but he seems to be well on the path.

Hopefully I'll find the time to do more than lurk soon, but until then... thanks so much again for being there for us.

HOTPOINT

Your father is still in our thoughts 'Ski. In Chemo the drugs may have bad side-effects but they also have shiny "effects" too.
