Surreality 4
Monday, June 6, 2005

Hey, I'm not going to be around much,...doesn't mean I'm going to be gone forever. Here's a Surreality blog with a little twist...these are things I do to make other people's day more surreal:

Blowing down the highway at top speed is great. Until you come to a stoplight...then look over at the person next to you , who is staring because you have the Back to the Future theme blaring out your window.

I lent out the first disc of my Firefly set to someone over the weekend. I showed up promptly this morning to collect it. He handed it over, and I was certain he would either ask for the next one, or tell me not to bother. He said "I went to the store and bought the set. I watched them all this weekend...I've been waiting for you to come get this so we could talk about it." I said "Sure, I'll let you borrow the next one...wait...what?"

Yeah, that was me running out to the car to get my pants this morning. Yes, those were my underwear. What, you've never seen Horton Hears a Who boxers before?

My boss tells me he's replacing me with a pregnant woman...My response? "What are you gonna do when someone else turns up pregnant?" His answer "No one else is pregnant." I turned and left the room.

I enter my Mutant Blaster character Mainliner in every City of Heroes costume contest just so he'll lose. He's just wearing jeans and a black t shirt and gloves. And glasses. I think the glasses are what makes him lose all the time.

My neighbors watched me mow the yard the other day. I don't pick up things before I mow, because I'm tired of doing it. My yard gets used as a throughfare, and people think its just one big garbage bin. So, I mow over it. There are a great many mulched candy wrappers blowing around this base now.

I squealed like a little girl when I got Tivo today. I actually squealed.

JADEHAND

See, it's things like this that I'll miss seeing so much off. I have to stay away from driving after watching Back To The Future. That theme just sticks in my head and makes the right foot heavy.
