I'm an Apple girl.

I haven't always been a Mac user...in fact, my dad threatened to disown me when I bought my iBook last summer.

Something about betraying my upbringing. He raised me better than that. Whatever. Just because he was in on the ground floor of computer technology and I was learning as he was bringing it home, he thinks I should always be a PC person. Well, I don't have to 'park' my drive at the dos prompt anymore. The times have changed, dad, and I want something easy to use. It doesn’t hurt that it isn’t huge and ugly. I threw away all my recovery disks last year. It was so much fun.

I want a couple of minis to run the house and site. Right now a shuttle is doing it. Yes, that’s a pc, but I don’t touch it. I just let it do its thing. Over there. In the closet.

I will have much fun with the new shiny box...especially since it's easily transportible! I want to get a mini (or 2 or 3) to use at home as a RAID and backup for all my crap. There are things that I don't need to carry around with me all the time, but they need a good home, and somewhere where I can access them quickly, and have the ability to just open them up and start working without having to move them over to my PB. Minis sound just right for that!

However, the next purchase I'm making is probably going to be a 20" cinema display....I went into Comp USA yesterday, and opened up the Serenity trailer on the 30" cinema display....hee hee...unfortunately they had the sound way down and nothing I did would bring it up. I have a feeling they've had people blasting the system before...

She 'tis a wonder little thing indeed!

I've been having fun installing OpenBSD on it, which didn't work out. I've downloaded Gentoo and will try that later.

Righ now, I've just installed darwinPorts. Currently building pyOpenGL :)

And although I've had to make some financial... sacrifices to get it, I think it is well worth the pain. Especially since my other computer was breaking down.

Shiny, hope you have as much fun with yours as I am with mine.

ThatWeirdGirl, yes, I do find myself lucky to have it (are you a Mac user? This is my first).

I'm *very* tired and must sleep (just mentioning incase I sound like I'm rambling ;)).

Anywho, good night :)

Yeah, the mini is unbelievable in person...it's just so small! Every time I look at one I am amazed at the power in the little guy. Lucky Sigma.
