It's beginning to look a lot like turkey

I’m in a much better mood today. I’ve completed my TAP (tactical assault plan) for the upcoming holiday. I’ve got the majority of the ingredients on hand and I’ve figured out what has to be made when so the holiday meal can end up on the table in the late afternoon.

I really like Thanksgiving, I mean what other holiday is there where the main focus is food? Christmas has presents, Easter, Valentine’s Day and Halloween have candy. I guess you could argue that the Fourth of July is a food holiday with all the barbequing going on but I think it’s basically a beer holiday.

Speaking of beer, the beer we’ve been making is almost to the bottling stage. It has to rest overnight in its bottling bucket and then into the brown bottles it goes! I’ll be glad to have the 5 gallon drum off my counter. I need the space.

Two grandmothers disagree killed me. Tash and Maniac have great grandmothers. I don’t think either of mine would have sat down to watch sci-fi with me.

Also Gaines is either a genius or a madman. I wish I could have gotten my master’s committee to let me do a project like that. Imagine getting to watch Firefly and write about it and get graduate credit. That is just too sweet.

I hope you all have a nice holiday and that someone who cares about you feeds you!

And I can tell by the way you're searching
For something you can't even name
That you haven't been able to come to the table
Simply glad that you came

And when you feel like this try to imagine
That we're all like frail boats on the sea
Just scanning the night for that great guiding light
Announcing the jubilee

And I can tell by the way you're standing
With your eyes filling with tears
That it's habit alone keeps you turning for home
Even though your home is right here

Where the people who love you are gathered
Under the wise wishing tree
May we all be considered then straight on delivered
Down to the jubilee

Cause the people who love you are waiting
And they'll wait just as long as need be
When we look back and say those were halcyon days
We're talking 'bout jubilee
