...but i'm a fast learner
Friday, September 9, 2005

I don’t have a job. I’m looking around, but there’s not a lot available when you don’t have a degree. I’m working on an idea Succatash gave me, but it’s not looking too doable. The city just isn’t happin’ enough.

Up for a spot at a computer store.

Nothing else yet. But I guess since it was just a few days ago, I shouldn’t expect much.

You know, I’m tempted to call up the Navy. Back in high school, they were after me. There’s a Navy reserve here. What do you think? I could actually build a skill. This base seems to do a lot with systems and cryptology.

What am I saying? Enlist? Eek.

Speaking as a Navy man, I'm not sure enlisting (even in the reserves) is a good idea. But I discourage everybody from joining until they've considered the matter very thouroughly. Don't give up, I'm sure you'll find something. I couldn't get arrested in Los Angeles a few years ago, then I found something...the Navy. Ai-ya, don't listen to me... I read minds and spin falsehoods...

You'll find something. I know you will.

Or, you know, we can be unemployed together. It'll be fun!

Enlist? In the military? Seriously? At a time when every President knows that if his approval rating is dropping, all he has to do is send a bunch of low income 18-30 something nobodies to their deaths abroad somewhere and proclaim a great victory for freedom and democracy?

*worries for twg and pretty much every young American*

Perhaps you could go back to school. Even a degree from a community college might help.
Military is always a good idea when you don't know what you want to do.
I'll be thinking of you, and I'm sure you'll find something soon.
