Anyways, I have a Firefly fic taking form in my head right now, as it turns out. No cast members, no ex-Browncoats and no ship. Sounds almost like heresy! ;)

See, the thing is, once I'm done making a thing and being caught up in the euphoria of creation, I become too critical. Like the fanfic, I look at it now a see that unless you are a Firefly fan, you're gonna miss some of the things I took for granted.

Ultimately, I feel that the picture in my head is not adequately reflected on whatever medium I'm working with.

Yeah, I feel that way, too. I always say I'm a "Jill of All Trades" or a "Renassaince Woman". It's good. It makes one well-rounded.

And you really do have to keep writing. Your Reaver piece gave me serious Stephen King-eque chills!

I have to share your sentiments with regards to creativity.

Until a year ago, I hadn't written a single story. I'd tried to write my own stuff or write fan fic based on other tv shows several years back, but couldn't find the inspiration or energy. I thought that I couldn't write. :(

I posted my first piece of Firefly fan fic on Halloween last year, (a single page story), and the level of support from fellow Browncoats enabled me to find the inspiration to write more.

It's like an itch that won't go away. :)

The good thing is that you are now writing. Be inspired. Keep the inspiration flowing. Don't be scared to write ambitious or complicated storylines. (Writing can be a learning process too.)
