nursery time with wash
Sunday, October 16, 2005

yes.
i did nursery at church today. the children were frightened. i was too.

there were plastic dinosaurs involved. i ended up doing the entire first scene with them and amusing small children. it was glorious.

i have really long hair. children about the age of three enjoy this trait. one of them asked why my hair was so "naughty/knotty" and i had to explain that Jesus just made some people's hair curly. the three year old went on to list all the other things Jesus knew including (but by no means limited to-)

*when mommy kangaroos die
*when service gets out
*what you're doing ALL THE TIME

and it dawned on me that Jesus knew

Select to view spoiler:

that wash was destined to die.

*sigh*

did i mention there was this one little girl who kept going up to this other boy and smooching him and he was so embarassed? it was kaylee and simon. round glasses on little boy. precious. absolutely precious.

Aye,

That was a sweet story. I laughed about the Simon/Kaylee analogy. It was very uplifting. Sorry it took so long to respond to this, but it was a great story. I have to agree with the Wash statement too.

LIMINALOSITY

Thanks, that was nice. The insight of children is a pearl beyond price. Wash w/dinos got me too. It's still one of my favorite moments in the show.

CALLMESERENITY

lol! That's a cute story!
Next time you'll have to teach them to sing the Ballad of Serenity. (Could you imagine!?)

I have really long hair, too, and little kids always ask me why my hair is so long and I always tell them, "I don't know, it just kind of grew that way." The looks on their faces when they try to puzzle that out...very funny!
