Finally, going to university pays off
Wednesday, February 1, 2006

During every semester this company, or group I'm not really sure what they are, tour around the universities selling posters and stuff so students can plaster their walls. I've walked through their rows of posters six times so far since starting university but nothing's really caught my eye, but that's mostly because there's nothing really good. It boggles me that pictures of Orlando Bloom can sell out every year but there's no love for any of the Joss shows.

Except there was today!

I was sort of hoping they would have something Serenity related so I was walking madly up and down the aisles looking for any hint of blue. I didn't see any mainly because they weren't stocking any of the blue North American posters. However, they had the U.K. one, the one with deadly looking River, and it just floored me. Three years of browsing through crap and here's something worth buying. My brain sort of stalled in that moment of recognition and I think my heart skipped a beat.

And then my thought patterns turned into: "Okay, gotta find an order form, gotta find an order form. Damn, where's a pencil. Okay, found a form and a pencil. What's the order number? H227. Author. Cinema? Title. Serenity ! Price. $9.00, yay that's cheap! Wait. I only have five dollars in my wallet. Check the change, check the change. Damn, only two dollars worth of change. Okay, come back tomorrow, tomorrow."

I hope they haven't sold out. They've been on campus since Monday and for all I know there are hundreds of Browncoats on campus and they've bought every copy. But I doubt it. I really want this poster. When I buy it, I'll have a complete set: one Buffy poster, one Angel , and then one Firefly / Serenity .

Who says nothing good ever happens at university?

Gotta love poster sales, eh? The company that does my uni (Queen's University at Kingston, for those who're curious) hasn't had any but I certainly suggested Firefly and Serenity on the comment sheets;)

Had to get mine through eBay and the like and for more than $9.00, but I think it's worth it.
