Kaylee-esque
Thursday, March 23, 2006

So, I am pissed at my father. He has completely taken away my ability to be a damsel in distress when it comes to vehicles. I realized this earlier today as I was changing my brake pads. Yep, I change my own brake pads, can change my own oil, have pulled alternators, put in a fly wheel, water pump, radiator, and let's not go on about what else I can do under a hood.

Yes it is good and all. I am proud of the fact that no auto meachanic can fool me (and some have tried and gotten chewed out). But sometimes, like Kaylee in Shindig, I just want to be feminine, yet nothing I do seems to be feminine. Unless I quit working at the slaughterhouse, stop working stock at rodeos, and give up swordfighting, I don't forsee any of that happening.

Maybe that is why I started taking ballet. Need to do further analysis. But I won't. I am who I am and that is all I am.

Yeah, don't discount being able to do things for yourself. It's a wonderful ability.

And, as we've seen in Kaylee, it certainly doesn't preclude being feminine.

You can be girly sliding underneath a car and getting all greasy.

COPILOT

You're lucky everyone is always trying to do things for me. It sounds nice but it kind of sucks because all the males in my life don't seem to think I'm capable of anything more than tying my own shoes.

Gah! I wish I could deal with cars! I hate feeling like such an ignorant dope when I go to the mechanic.

Kudos to your father for teaching you.
