The Optimist, the Pessimist, and the Realist
Wednesday, March 29, 2006

So there are these three guys who (through one way or another) came across a glass of water one day when walking through a desert of no name and no real location.

The first one, who was an optimist, looked at the glass and said, "Look! A glass of water! And what luck, it is half full. Enough for all three of us!"

The second, who was a pessimist, looked at the same glass, and remarked, "Are you crazy? There's no way that glass can sustain us all! For, you see, it is clearly half empty!"

The third, who was a realist, replied, "You fools. Can't you see that there is no glass; it is merely a mirage."

(I don't know what this means or how it came to my mind, but it did and now we all shall suffer for it. Thank you.)

STEAMER

Hehe...the way I've always looked at it, being a realist my own self, is this - "Who gives a rip. It's a glass. There's water in it. Drink it and thank the Lord."

I LIKE IT..
the optimist being on the better of things wants to see the glass so he does and remarks upon its contence.
the Pesimist being on the lesser of things remarks souly because he himself is thirsty not entirely sure he sees the glass. the realist being the last rational mind never saw the glass and pulls the Yin and Yang from their day dream.

SINGATE

Whenever I hear the half full/half empty thing I end up telling people that it is both. I usually get looked at like I'm crazy.
