Firefly at #13 on Amazon -- pretty spry for a dead fella...
Thursday, April 13, 2006

Wow... Firefly is at #13 on Amazon sales... Can you believe a show that only ran 3 months in 2002 is at #13 of all sales in DVDs? Or maybe that's just box sets. But still. THAT is the power of Browncoat Bucks in action... and New-found Fans-yet-to-become Browncoats...

[What galls me is Fox is getting that cashy money. Does that seem right to you? Anybody know if Joss & the actors still get a piece of that money as residuals?]

This is why it's really just a matter of time before we get more Firefly / Serenity, folks. Went to see a movie today and [gag] they're coming out with a Garfield 2 movie. If they cn make another dog of a cartoon cat movie, then we've got it made. Just gotta be patient and keep flyin'...

I like how Firefly is holding its own on the rankings, but I would like to see Serenity move up a few slots since Universal controls the rights to the 'verse at the moment.

Yeah, but "Garfield" is a widely recognized property the masses like well enough.

"Firefly" & "Serenity" are less widely known (even with all the preaching we do to the masses), plus some people will hear "cancelled TV show" and automaticaly assume it's crap and not moronic execs at work. Plus, peole could simple dump on it cuz it was on Fox and they hate Fox TV.

Don't let it bother you that "Fox" gets the money. That's 20th Century Fox, the good folks who made the show, not FOX Television, the bad folks who cancelled it. See this thread for details:

Better still, as of right now we're the #1 DVD in television...this late in the game, even this far removed from the Serenity release...pretty amazing...looks like we are doing the impossible.
