Essay time...yippee....
Friday, May 5, 2006

Well, I'm in my 1st period global history class that I have the most ginormous (yes, that is a word....) project due in 2 weeks and we have now just been assigned an essay on the war w/ Iraq that's due Wednesday! Grr..arrgh...! Here's the exact prompt:

Essay Title/Theme: "To War and Back"--a tribute to our troops that have fought and are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq

Okay, so I'm an American and I'm one of the people who doesn't neccessarily agree with the war. (Let the flames begin....Not really, please. I don't want to start a war with the browncoats...)

So, long story short....I have absolutely NO idea what to write. I'm sitting in the computer lab with my bff (who, sadly, is not a Browncoat. ) and we are surfing the web rather than actually working on the assignment. It's quite amusing, actually. But, y'know, with the whole might-be-caught-at-any-moment thing is a bit of a damper. Ah, well...

Oh, and thank you so much to copilot and BlueEyedBrigadier for your thoughts.

Well, off to eat food in my French class.

Cheers,
~ForeverShiny

Good luck :P (Man, I still wake up some days glad as ruttin' hell that I don't have to write any more essays...)

Tayeatra's suggestion about perusing the RWE Threads might not be a bad idea, no end of opinions over there. :P

Also, don't forget that there can be a difference between how you feel about the war, and how you feel about the troops over there...

I might be worth checking out the real world events thread here for a couple of opinions!

Anyway... no flames here. I'm British and it was hugely controversial over here. Not going into my point of view but just letting you know you're not the only one cautious of the topic.

Also continued best wishes and happy thoughts to your grandmother.
