The last few days have been rather sad. I am not looking forward to one of my favorite stations being destroyed. TechTV is a haven for geeks and nerds and such. Well, Comcast recently bought out TechTV. They plan on putting their own station, G4, on in its place. They tell us they are keeping some of the shows, but they won't be. They have fired the production staff, moved the studios, given the employees notice and posted a list of planned shows. It doesn't look good. I just needed a place to whine. Just ignore me.

I'll miss Leo. Heck, I'll miss them all, even Martin and Foo.

G4 is for gamers...not Macs. All the shows I've seen from G4 have been loud, busy, and very MTVish. I didn't like it.

It was a cool, quirky channel to the public and was like a tech version of public television programming. To the suits who own that station, it was probably not making the kind of money they were expecting and I'm sure that Apple will use G4 to help with sales of its PCs, but they have deeper pockets and to them its a marketing cost/presence as opposed to a source of income.

why are you so quick to assume that since i don't like macs, that i'm pro windows?

any ways, by "crime against humanity" i meant more of the concept that scrapping the main tech channel for something focused on macs would be a gross misrepresentation of computers in general.

i'm sure that macs have their uses (so i've been told, at least) and the whole "no pragrams" thing does wonders for stability. ;P

A crime against humanity huh? That's an interesting way of putting it. And no G4 is not a show centered around Macs. Macs are popular enough to get an entire show centered around them.

BTW Macs are SO much better then windows machines b/c they DON'T HAVE WINDOWS! ;-)

ew, that's not good news. tech tv was practically the only station i watched when i went home and had a tv TO watch.

this new "G4" thing... it's not going to be mac-centered is it? that would be a crime against humanity.
