Unless I miss my guess, alimony and child suppport are long-term payments - aren't they? So much an amount per month, toward the eventual payment of a pre-decided amount of alimony / child support?

So HIMSELF is in debt just over $10K. 1) HIMSELF did that HIMSELF; and 2) (and this is oh so very sad) that's just over the US national *average* for credit card debt. He probably isn't paying 23% APR on that loan from her, either - and if he is, well congrats to the shakedown artist.

And yes, lordy, go to a doctor! Start looking in to low-cost and / or government-financed child healtcare now, as well. It takes forever and five freakin' years to get through all the BS paperwork to get into the social security system. (But - hey, you have paid into that so that it's there to help people, such as yourself, who need temporary assistance. Right now, I'm thinking you need the assistance.)

Try hot water with lemon to make your chest feel better and hey who knows...get a good judge and the spouse may just find a nice deep pocket under threat of serious jail time...or we could all just take turns kicking him/
