Gotta agree with stinkingrose. We can go on at length about how something you wrote seemed off or odd or not quite right, but it's still you who gets to choose what to take as honest and helpful criticism and what's something that can be ignored because you have a great idea that's not quite come to fruition yet;)

No, it *does* matter what you think. It's *your* story.
Our opinions are less important, and are only opinions. Different people like different styles and foci.
You wrote it and you have to like it. Write to amuse yourself. If nobody else is laughing, that's their problem. Nobody's paying you to do this, it's your story tell it however you want to.
As for rewriting and rewriting..feh! Put it away for a while.
Try a new story, or continuing the story, and work on tinkering with dialogue in that one.
Maybe you're just a more visual and physical person. There can be some very strong scenes without anyone speaking a word.
Don't beat yourself up... unless you can then work a character kicking their own tushie into your next work!
Trying to write like you is hard enough, trying to write like somebody else is even harder.
