Computer randomly restarts itself...HELP!!!

Does anyone know how to deal with a computer that randomly shuts off. Its driving me nuts! I cant get anything done. Help or advice would be appreciated. Thank You!

i just cleaned out all the dust so it shouldnt be overheating. I use Windows XP. It happens completely randomly. I'll be on the internet or in a game or i wont be anywhere near it, the desktop will just be on and then it will restart. i took it to best buy geek squad and they couldnt find anything wrong with it. im at wits end.

I had the same problem last year...and sad to say I had a nasty computer virus. If you can keep it running long enough, try running your virus protection! Good luck -M.
