since coming aboard this site, i have enjoyed putting my fanfic together more than you cold possibly imagine. it was years, many years, since i had done any writing, anf these characters fill me with the driving need to keep them alive and well, and to explore what can be done with them.

My big influence is some wonderful crime fiction by a guy named Lawrence Block, who wrote a seriesof novels calledthe matt Scudder mysteries. He lieved and breathed on the underside of new york, and as seedy as it sounds, it was tremendously well written, and constant exploration into his soul, and what the dark side of life in the city does to his soul. I am trying to bring that to my writing.

Everything i write, i do it as if it were an episode, with actors cast in my mind to give everything more reality in my imagination, and hopefully more reality in my writing.

Your work, browncoatjim, is absolutley marvelous. The way in which you explore the darkness within each character is brilliant.

I especially loved 'A River Taken', I thought it was a superior piece of fic; one of the best I've read in a long while.

I might have to check out this Lawrence Block fellow.
