sigh...

Since I've gotten the DVD set I have wanted to do this. I sat down and watched all the episodes over a couple a nights, from start to finish, now they are all done.

Then the realisation: That was It.

I have seen all the episodes before when they aired in Australia & a friend had the DVDs before I got my own (they are also now being re-run on Fox8). But the thought never really struck me before.

There is no more. They are all great (some I like more than others, but who doesn't have favourites?) and we will never see their likes again.

A new series is a nice idea, but frought with problems

Unless a miracle occurs, at best there will be a resurrection of the 'verse with different characters and stories, and that will be years away (if it ever occurs at all) and nearly take a miracle itself.

Another movie is possible, though unlikely, (again in years), but without Book (who had so many stories left to tell) and Wash (not so much his own stories, but in making the stories as they unfold go from good to great) I am not sure it would be even comparable to the series (or the first movie).

sigh...
