The Golfing Goth
Friday, March 30, 2007

OK so I just got the biggest kick out of this......

I was talking with my oldest Nephew a few weeks ago about getting out and doing something. I asked him if he still liked golf and he told me yes. So I told him that when I was in school there was a Golf Team in High School and maybe he should look into that.

Yesterday he came home from school just a chattering away to Laurelin about how they had a meeting during his Resource Class (Study Hall) for the Golf Team. he said that he and a couple of friends decided that it sounded interesting so they went.

He said it sounded cool and that they held try-outs in Aug for the next season. he told Laurelin that he wanted to try-out. the kicker is that he is a Goth. Hehehehe the Golfing Goth is born!

Man I can't wait to see the look the Coach has when he shows up for try-outs! Hehehehehe (I am evil)!

Yes I am sure that they have a uniform and all that good stuff but it is still so cool!

Not to mention now I have a reason to Golf anytime I want this summer and can just say that the Nephew needs to get ready for try-outs! HOODY-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aww...that ain't fair, reginaroadie. Never know what kind of interests one can have;)

And I am mighty happy to hear your nephew wants to give the golf team a whirl. Golf needs some new blood to shake it up some more. Tiger Woods has gotten too mainstream;)

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the image of some pale kid with an emo haircut, piercing all over his face and in leather black attire stuck in a sand trap and wondering if he should use a pitching wedge or a 7 iron.

That is truly awesome and will broaden the horizons of the whole team! Always love when unexpected kids join up:) One of the best members of my academic team was a goth :)

Its awesome when a young mind shows an interest in something, hell, anything. Wish him luck in his persuit and make sure he gets to add some identity to his uniform. Nothing reeks of conformity like a uniform.
