Urg... tired... so. very. tired. Just got done at a customer site troubleshooting a piece of equipment that refused to behave. Well, the problem was at heart really simple (aren't they all?) but the nature of designers is that they never actually have to WORK on the equipment they design. I think I actually spent fifteen minutes on the actual problem and five hours getting everything out, and then putting it all back together.

To add insult to injury, I was at a customer site so I didn't have the lunch I brought, forgot my wallet at work (no cash) and traffic was a bear getting back to the office. (Gotta laugh, though. I'm still taking this job way too seriously for a short-timer.)

Speaking of which, I have to stay thru the end of September in order to get severance. So close, this dream, yet so far. Still, two months isn't bad considering that I would get nothing if I just walk away. (I'll need all the money I can get.) Also, it's less than the eight months left until Serenity...

I guess it'll be nice to have time to prepare, but, like a soon to be ex-con, it'll be hard time to do. Mentally I'm already pacing...pacing...

My buddy's already started what needs to be done to get our plans moving forward. I feel like he's doing all of the heavy lifting and I'm just twiddling my thumbs here at the starting gate waiting...waiting...waiting...

Feh! too much thinking...(thinking...thinking...)

Actually, I didn't need to put that last mental echo in, but the previous two paragraphs made it a thematic necessity.

The post-tradeshow party was pretty tame compared to last year, but I still ended up getting home about three am. Lots of booze, loud music, yadda, yadda... typical Japanese company shindig. (The weekend was only slightly painful...thank god I'm single... nights like that have to be followed up with lots and lots of sleep! - sleep....don't talk about sleep...)

Geeze... I wanted to really put down a lot about what's been happening since last Thursday (It's been a week already??!!) but I can barely keep my eyes open and I have to drive home after this. (Fortunately my company supplies us with caffine and those red-bull type drinks...I'll probably fall asleep before 10pm...unusual for me as I don't usually go to bed until one or two in the am.

***YAWN!***

Ok, that does it. enough. I gotta get food and get to bed.

It must be nice to have a date set for the Amazing Life Change. It's good to get an update.
So, do your co-workers know you are on your way out the door?
