I got the shock of the day when I took Zeke outside just now. He went off to graze like a cow and never even saw a thing.

I saw this stripey lump in the driveway. It was a snake in the middle of his lunch of baby rabbit! I took pics, because even though SC has a lot of snakes, I rarely see them.

Unfortunately, in taking pics, I startled him into backing off of his meal and he slithered away.

That is the coolest thing I've seen in quite a while! Where do you live? I'll try to work out what kind of snake it is!

I'm hoping to yoink this piccie to show to my students!

Don't worry about scaring him off, this much rabbit would have kept him stuffed for up to 5 weeks but he looks a nice healthy snake so he'll soon find another one.

I'd recommend building a bonfire and cremating the bunny but do wash your hands, wild snakes often carry salmonella

No, he hasn't come back for it. I was hoping he would, but someone said he wouldn't now that it was dead.

Now the question is... where can I put it that Zeke can't get to it! I'm not throwing it in our trash bin, it's supposed to be in the nineties this week!
