When The Levees Broke
Sunday, June 10, 2007

I just got done watching this amazing film.

It's a documentary done by Spike Lee for HBO called "When The Levees Broke: A Requiem In Four Acts".

As you can probably guess it's about hurricane Katrina and New Oreleans, and it was SO powerful. I mean, there were times I was mad as hell, then there were times I just broke down in tears. It just affects you so much to see that we are the wealthiest country in the world, yet we let our people suffer like that for FIVE DAYS. It just goes to show you how truly inept our government is.

There's so much I could talk about here, but instead, I'm going to urge everyone to see this movie. I got it from my local library, so you might be able to find it at yours.

I agree with you. It was an amazingly powerful documentary. I live in Canada, so I wasn't privy to all the information contained in it until I seen it. I highly recomend it. It really opened my eyes. I'd like to think my government wouldn't put me through that, but I guess you never know until it happens!

Thank you for the recommendation, zerokiryu! Definitely want to see it now...if only to know how far the First World can sink when a populace is under threat:(
