I hate to say it, but I would not want to be awake for that, so yeah you might be stupid. I actually woke up a couple times while mine were being dug out, and I'm pretty sure I started to cry. It's all a bit of a blur, but I think there were tears for a couple seconds until they got me put under again.
Might I unofficially and soley from my own experience recommend arnica for afterwards? If you have any health stores in your area it should be in the remedies section in a tube a little bigger than your pinky. You're supposed to let a little of it disolve under your tongue, and I have to say that I healed extremely well after taking it (and that's coming from the surgeon, not just me) Am I just a fast healer? Well, not so much, actually.
Anyways, best of luck! It's not a fun time no matter what. I was swollen and unable to talk right for nearly five days, and barely functional for a couple days after that. It didn't hurt all that bad for me, I didn't need any of the painkillers they gave me, but I was swollen and it sucked. And then there were the holes in my gums for awhile that would get food stuck in them. Pain in the ass.
