Well, here I am.

I avoided Firefly for a long time, probably because I thought 'Buffy' was such drivel.

Anyway, one day I was sitting in a hotel room with not a lot to do, and looking at a website that lists TV shows that have been posted on video hosting sites, and I thought "Let's have a look." I am a builder for a science fiction MUD, and a few people had been saying that we should have a Firefly-themed area or ship in the game.

I watched 'The Train Job'... then I watched 'Bushwhacked' and 'Safe'... and I had to admit that I was hooked. Despite learning of the series' early demise, I ordered the DVD boxed set from Amazon, together with 'Serenity'. When they arrived, I went through everything in sequence, although having seen some episodes already. (I've watched most of them at least twice now.) I felt a growing sense of sadness as I approached the end of the series, but at least I had the film to look forward to. It didn't disappoint, although it distinctly draws a line under the show.

Anyway, I want you to know that pirated video content was what got me hooked. It isn't depriving anybody of their rightful revenue, because it triggered my purchases. Without the ripped off episodes on the Internet, I'd never have got here.
