Heartbroken Update

Wow. I was just looking through my reviews today and I gotta say the response has been surprisingly good. I mean all I did was expunge an idea that refused to lie still. I thought, "There had to be a time before the war when Mal was happy. A reason why he was so passionate about winning a doomed war. Where was he? Who had a hand in making him happy? And where did that cross come from? What if he got it from a woman?" Amazing what the words "what if" can do.

So here's the scoop. Heartbroken 7 is on its way. It's in the hands of my Beta group even as I type. One critique has come back and I'm waiting on at least two more, so it should be posted shortly. Heartbroken 8 will follow, concluding this little tale of mine. I apologize for the delays between installments, but I had this idea that I shouldn't write while I'm going to school (AD in Graphic Design), so I didn't during first quarter, thinking I would catch up during my break. Only I didn't do that either. The resolution for part 7 didn't even hit me until I was headed back for Summer quarter, so it seems I write better when I'm under pressure... go figure.

If you're unable to visit this site regularly - due to what the writers for "Adventures in Gunrunning" call "Real Life Issues" - but would like to see how this ends, I would be happy to notify you when it's posted. Speaking of the real world, I've recently been given the crazy notion of releasing Heartbroken as a digest-size fanzine, complete with illustrations that will include the crew of the Zirondelle. It seems pretentious of me to think that anyone would want to pay money for something like that, but if you're one of those who would, please indicate that in the e-mail as well. I'll likely do illustrations of the Zirondelle crew anyway, just because I feel like it. Those will be posted on my artist page at MNArtists.org, saving Haken a little bandwidth.
