Well I stepped off in it now.
I never thought I would fall into the fanatic category.
I've never had the urge to dress as a Jedi, or don rubber ears and pretend to be logical.
That is until I found Firefly. Now I didn't intend to "geek out" over Firefly but little by little I found that I was.
Besides watching it more times than I can count, I found myself telling everyone I ran across about this great show. Then my desire for more took me online, where I searched for, and changed regularly, new images to display as my wallpaper. Then came the collectibles. A comic book here a companion guide there, checking my bank balance against the auction about to close on Ebay.
I joined more forums than I can visit in a day, bring up discussions that I'm sure they have had a hundred times since the show left the air. No one seemed to mind. Although I never had been sucked in before I had heard of the arguments over Kirk or Picard or which Lightsaber color is better. Browncoats weren't like that. Far from it.
Now you might think at this point the transformation was complete but not quite.
I found this site and fan fiction. In my search for more Firefly I found you guys and gals that have expanded the verse with a library of literature, and for the first time I did what I up until that point I thought impossible, I joined in reading your great stories and adding my own attempts.The transformation is complete I am a fanatic.
I'm am happy I only need a long brown coat to show my support. I think the rubber ears would be annoying.

Help! Help! I can fell the transformation coming over me....NO skill in writing though...seriously handicapped there...I'm a pretty good shot so maybe that helps. :)

lol... really now, is being a fanatic all that bad? I never had issues calling myself one when the show was ON the air, now that it's cancelled, I think I'm even MORE of one... I tell simply EVERYBODY about it!!! As to the rubber ears, yeah... that would kinda suck, give me a good ol' brown leather duster any day!!!
