Fall Goals
Thursday, October 4, 2007

I know that you're supposed to make resolutions at new years but lately I've been so down on myself and it's caused me to look at my body and personality with a very critical eye... so here they are, my goals starting now and I'll keep you guys up to date as much as I can so you can hold me to my word...

1. I need to lose 50 lbs and fast. I'm an actress and although I will never have that hollywood ideal (I think those girls are TOO skinny anyways) it's important for me to be in shape and right now I'm too fat.
2. I need to start looking more positively at my dreams. Of course, this is crazy hard because acting... well talk about a profession in where you are rejected at least 5 times more than you actually get the part.
3. I would really like to get a professional acting job for the summer or an internship...

I cannot tell you guys the passion I have for acting and how crazily I want to act for the rest of my life. It seems impossible to me sometimes but I honestly don't see myself ever doing anything else... who knows maybe one day I'll meet my heroes

Good lu... er, break a leg with accomplishing all your goals! (Actor's humor!)

A little tip on losing the weight: see your doctor first. Though I recommend discussing with him/her the possibility of daily yoga accompanying your more strenuous activity. It works wonders!

i second the FAST weight loss caution - also... one of my fave actors is Amber Benson... i don't believe in a body type for a fickle market.

but GOOD LUCK with your aspirations -
"I cannot tell you guys the passion I have for acting " and passion is what counts:)
keep flyin:)

Good for you that you know what you want to do and are passionate about it! Your mindset is right on target 'i'm an actress...' And so you are, anything else is unacceptable. Just channel that mindset to your other goals and they will materialize. Go for it! :)

Fall goals; good for you. I've always liked fall for looking ahead to things I want to change. Remember we are all 'works in process'...not finished yet...so you hang on to your dreams, 'kay? "Fast" weight loss is never good...aim for 2# a week...that's a doable goal. I don't know where you live but walking a couple of miles a day is a good start. Packing a lunch or breakfast is also a good way to manage how much you eat in a day. My trouble has always been night-time munchies...which I now try to restrict to carrots and if I'm really hungry some granola bars. I can feel the passion you have from your post...keep it warm and safe; don't ever lose it!
