I purchased The X-Files seasons one and two not too long ago, and I've ben watching them recently. I hadn't really forgotten how good the show was, and to be honest, when it was bad in the early days, it was really, really bad.

I did actually get bothered when it was posited on the show in the episode "Squeeze" that Spooky Mulder got his nickname because of the X-Files. We find out later, of course, that that isn't true, but it feels true. I think...but I'm not sure, that he got his nickname by how well he was able to solve cases for the Violent Crimes section.

And Gillian Anderson! How cute was this woman! I mean, in the beginning, it hadn't boiled over into smokin' hot yet, but, it was well on its way...(And, not to offend any young Firefly watching mothers that might be reading this, but, she did get better looking after the baby, though I think this might have more to do with wardrobe than anything else, so don't take what I say here too seriously...I don't!)

I'm patiently waiting for the emergence of some of my favorites...The Lone Gunmen!

The Truth Is Out There!!!

(If you haven't seen The X-Files ((And, let's face it, Firefly has a young enough consistuency that that mighta actually be true)) I can't recommend it enough. Be warned, though...the first two seasons are a bit bumpy. There's more than enough good to hook your attention, but, there's plenty bad in there too. Just be patient. By season 3, 4, and 5, it's all smooth sailing...mostly)

THEREALME

Mostly, I loved X-Files. Never saw that last season, though. Or really much after Mulder was gone. X-Files had that odd quality that if you tried to describe an episode to someone who had never seen the show, it came off sounding incredibly stupid, even though when you watch it, it was pretty cool. Heh.

We just finished watching 'Fire' with Mark Sheppard. Last summer at D*C, he briefly talked about his X-Files appearance. Cecil would have been a great character to revisit.

I'd say that I miss the show but the last season was just so awful... I did enjoy pretty much every other season though, even the early ones because it was just so different back then. I still have my t-shit.

And the Lone Gunmen rocked! I think one of the funniest scenes in the whole series was when they were trying to figure what was written on a pad of paper with the page removed. The Gunmen were spouting all these technological theories that the FBI could use to figure it out, and then Mulder just shaded the paper with a pencil. XD

COZEN

Yeah, the Bloodhouse Gang got it right in their oft played tune with (from memory, ergo a paraphrase),

"So let's do it doggie style so we can watch X-Files."

MEGG

I'm a huge X-Files fan, got all 9 seasons which I watch about once a year and I hate how it ended. I actually preffered the earlier episodes when they had a different case each week and Mulder was really still quite sane. I remember the ep with Jewel Staite "It was a tough job getting mouth to mouth from David Duchovny but somebody had to do it". Can't wait for the new movie, to see if our heroes can actually have a happy ending. Maybe they should let me write it :-)

I'm really looking forward to the movie coming out. It'll be fun to see Scully and Mulder again. :-)

I don't have this series yet ( watched it on tv for years ) but I intend to buy it when I get done purchasing Angel.

One good thing at a time.....

Manwithpez I do remember the ‘ol X File tv series and I relay enjoyed them. It was one of the few tv series on at the time that the wife and I would actually make efforts to sit and watch. However we think the earlier, and maybe cornier eps were the best. I still catch them now and then in reruns and saying that one came on several weeks ago and when I noticed a name in the credits I for one had to sit and watch it. A very young Jewel Statie was in that one and just as cute as ever. Who knew at that time that this girl was a master mechanic…..lol.
Anyhoo, yepper loved the X-Files. Wasn’t able to catch many of the later eps due to shift working but the ones we did see were quiet fun and entertaining.
