so ideas i have for the firefly universe. whos to say that the browncoats were completely dead, how do we know that the browncoats didnt have underground organizations and have there own black ops or brown ops lol. Whats to say there werent double agents, working for the alliance but really working for the browncoats. i personally love spies and secret agents and Books secret past made me think of all the possibilities of this secret world within the Verse

thanks Chrisk for the feedback, and for what u said about whether or not they're well funded, thats the beauty of it, it isnt certain, but if they are passionate about hating the Alliance then they may not care as much about coin or Alliance credits as much as toppling the Alliance themselves, plus there's always salvage jobs.

"Of course, every movement retains some die-hard loyal followers. It's only ten years since the movement threatened to turn the 'Verse upside down, and it wouldn't be at all surprising if there were still some remnants left. There might be remnants a hundred years from now."

(Paraphrased from Isaac Asimov, 'Cleon the Emperor.')

We can argue about what form 'the surviving browncoats' take. Arguably, Mal is still one of them, just from his anti-Alliance attitudes and his habit of picking a fight in a purple bar every Unification day. Whether they're well funded enough to have a lot of secret agents and such is less certain, but certainly an interesting idea!
