Quote: Anita Mui, who for the last two decades brought entertainment to many fans in Hong Kong and around the world has died at the age of 40. The singing star was admitted to a hospital in Hong Kong on Monday night after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer earlier in the year. The singer passed away at 2.50 am local time on Tuesday morning. Anita Mui was often referred to as the ‘Madonna of Hong Kong’ because of her immensely successful pop career and of her chameleon type ability to change her image. She also was an accomplished actress appearing in many films worldwide. She acted in the Jackie Chan film ‘Rumble In the Bronx’ in 1995 which was released worldwide as well as the many other local films including ‘My Father Is A Hero’ in 1995. She also acted along side popular actors Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, and Chow Yun-Fat.
