A story a friend sent me:


T. Bechtol, part - time City Councilman from Pensacola, Florida, was

asked on a local live radio talk show the other day just what he thought

of the allegations of torture of the Iraqi prisoners. His reply

prompted his ejection from the studio, but a thunderous applause from the

audience.

"If hooking up an Iraqi prisoner's scrotum to a car's battery cables

will save one American GI's life, then I have just two things to say:

"Red is positive" "Black is negative"

So many things about this are bad. I know a city council man isnt exactly a pillar in our government, but its enough to make a headline that one of my friends would read (and trust me, my friends dont read...you have to glue their eyelids open to get them to read news).

May we all live in interesting times....

Actually, my understanding of this report is that he in not a city councilman at all, but a comedian who is a regular guest on this radio station. I can't remember the comedians real name but I'll see if I can get a line on it.
