All of this is excellent advice. Personally I write around 2,500 words per chapter, or less if it's a little ficlet, but there's no hard and fast rule. The only thing I would add is it's a good idea to find yourself a Beta to read your stuff through before uploading if you're at all worried about spelling or grammar.

Ya write what ya write.
It is what it is.
My stuff comes out as short stories, or even short shorts.
Write what comes, post it as you feel it's ready.

I tend to write about 20 pages per chapter, single spaced Times New Roman 12 point. I tried more once and the site wouldn't accept it. I guess it was too large.

Also, I always try to end a chapter on a cliffhanger, making them want more.

One more thing: don't start unless you are going to finish. Too many times I started a story and then the next part never came.

Some people write the whole thing first and then send it out a chapter a week or every few days. Others, like me, go chapter by chapter, with an overall plot or plan in mind. I used to write a chapter every few days or at least once a week, but I'm getting more busy and get two to three chapters a month now. Just go at your own pace.

No limit... short or long. My stories tend to run between 1900-2200 words per chapter. Some authors go longer, some shorter.

Glad to see another fic writer on here
