Got'er back, and she's running great! Just a side note.... the bone heads at Pep Boys , who first looked at my truck, put the serpentine belt back on WRONG. I'm not saying all Pep Boys mechanics are this incompetent, but I'm 1 for 1 in bad experiences w/ this outfit. The guys at the other garage asked me who put my belt on? I was a bit perplexed at the question, not knowing what they were talking about. Well, I found out today, when they showed me what they were laughing at. The belt was some how placed so that it rubbed up against an exposed bolt. You can see where the threads of the bolt were blackened by the belt rubbing right over it, and causing grooves to form on the belt. I only drove it that way for a few miles, which luckily didn't do any damage before I got to the other shop. Had I been out on the open road, it was only a matter of time before that belt wore straight out and snapped.
