Not getting very far

I think I've begun to bore people with Masks. I had never intended for it to be this long, nor this slow, but it sort of wrote itself into this piece where there's lots of character bits held together by a plot, and I'm not sure that anyone's interested any more. There is going to be action - some of it's already written - but I'm wondering whether to just end it and begin something else.

Probably just a bad day - work has been hard, and my home life even harder, so I guess I'm feeling down. Doobie do, down, down.

Masks is awesome, Girl. Don't give up. I know what writer's speedbumps feel like. Been having them myself. Just keep going. KK?

Couldn't have said it better myself. I also have hit a writing roadblock. Not quite sure what to do either.

I'm loving every bit of Masks to pieces. I enjoy deciphering your slow leads and character developments and try to anticipate where you're going to take it. But no matter how certain I am that you're going to take a jog to the left, you then take a jog to the right, or vice versa. Also , I enjoy it when you unknowingly put in a bit of Brit-speak and it doesn't translate into Ameri-speak, and somehow you create fluent Joss-speak out of the whole mess. How do you do that?

Hey, if character bits strung together with plot is a crime, then it's one we're all guilty of. I know I am.

The thing is character bits can be interesting if they're funny or they explore inter-relationships. I think yours do that.

Besides, how else do you build up a good background?

I know the feeling, Jane... I hit the same wall with Quest over a month ago.

However, I have been loving Masks. The slow buildup has been well done. Giver a little time for each half of the crew to have thier time in the spotlight and then WHAM! you'll hit us with something good!
