During a morning walk, if you should observe a hornet on the sidewalk, lying in the shade on its side and not moving, the proper response is NOT to nudge it gently with your foot.

I'm kinda known among friends for my inclinations towards inspired idiocy. I might make a series out of these sorts of learning experiences, to share so that people don't make the same mistakes.

Garden hoses, lockers, small rocks, tree branches, bees, hornets, dogs, cats, and bicycles all seem to like to do that.

I hope cars and small trucks aren't next on the list.
