Firefly: a 12 step program for withdrawal
Thursday, October 14, 2004

step 1: Admitted you were powerless over decisions made by Fox executives.

step 2: Came to believe that Joss could restore our faith in mass media. Or at least get a movie out to us. AND have a reeaalllly long gag reel on the Serenity DVD when it comes out.

step 3: Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Joss as we understood him.

step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of the tv listings.

step 5: Admitted to God, ourselves and everyone on FFF.net the exact nature of Fox's wrongs.

step 6: Were entirely ready to have Joss remove the defects (if any) of the movie during editing and post production.

step 7: Humbly asked Joss to let Mal be nekkid at least once in the BDM.

step 8: Made a list of all persons who have not seen Firefly and became willing to tie them up if need be to..."introduce" them to the show.

step 9: Made direct converts of such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. And maybe even then, if necessary.

step 10: Continued to do guerilla marketing techniques in Best Buy, Borders Books, Circuit City and assorted video rental outlets, and when the DVD was hidden away, promptly displayed it at eye level.

step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our freakish knowledge of every iota of each episode so as to win the Firefly trivia contests at each shindig.

step 12: Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry The Message (and all the other episodes) to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. While simultaneously attempting to actually live a life, work and pay bills when possible.

TRM!

4 out of 5 voices in my head say I'm not crazy either. That 5th one is a pain in my ass, though.

I love this entry. I'm so glad I wasn't the only one pleading to Joss Whedon, God (maybe one and the same?), or anyone else who would listen to have more nekkid Nathan. I love him. I....I'm sorry I spaced off for a moment. How am I supposed to work now with these images in my head?

This is hilarious and oh so very true! It would be perfect on a poster or t-shirt. For the record I'm a crazy too.

THEREALME

Well, certainly Mal-licious is crazy, but we wouldn't have her any other way. But The Real Me is not crazy. Ask anybody. Ask my robot friend Sparky, which I built out of a toaster and an old Mac computer! Why, I programmed him to attest to my sanity.

BWA HA HA!!!

The Real Me (NOT crazy)
