Reposting Stories?
Saturday, January 22, 2011

So I've been avoiding putting up blog posts, but I guess it's silly to pretend that I'm not back here and involved on Fireflyfans.

I'll start my first blog post after my break away with a question. Before I took my break, I deleted all my stories on fireflyfans in a fit of stress-induced craziness. But a lot of the people I talk to around here don't like (with good reason, the pop-ups are ridiculous and sometimes the ads contain malware), and would prefer to read stories on here.

I'm not asking anyone to even reread or comment, because I think I've pretty much forfeited rights to comments after deleting all the nice ones I had. But how would people feel about me reposting a story or a chapter, like maybe at a rate of once a week? Particularly you other authors out there, since my posting would affect you most of all, what with the main page "most recent stories" list and such.

Hmm, I've read something LIKE the second scene, but not in conjunction with 1) or 3). Are you sure these are part of the same fanfiction?

Anyway, the one I know of is a story where Wash's spirit is somehow reincarnated or joins with the spirit of an adult woman and Mal and Zoe offer her a job. And then she starts crushing on Jayne.

Or there's even another one that had them going to Monty for a pilot, but it was very recent, and I don't remember much about it. Is it one where the former pilot turns out to have known Wash during the war or something and his nickname was leaf? I don't remember the name... I think it was posted on fanfiction dot net, you could try doing a search for tv/firefly and "Linda," I think it was.

There's a bunch of stories with three as a scene, maybe it's one of Kaynara's stories?

Never seen anything like one where River is specifically described as talking with an Osirius accent.

Your last one is also one that I think happens a lot.

Sorry I'm not more help.

Hey there bytemite, good hear your are back.

sorry if I have happened to ask others about this before. but does any of these 3-4 "scenes" ring any bells for you Bytemite?

the scenes are as following:

funny scene(with River), Serenity is being boarded by criminals/pirates, do not know if they are planetbound or if they are in the black during this boarding, at some point the serenity crew has them beat, and at this point River is for some reason probably to scare the survivers, is standing over one of them and in a coldish/snobish accent(written to be of Osirian)as a gone bad highsociety debutante, asking Mal i think, of what to do with this survivor, and it is described as if they cannot get answer over there lips for a little while after hearing how River could have turned out if the Academy had let her be, and not ruined her life.

scene2(Mal and Zoe, and River as pilot(after bdm))it starts with Mal/Zoe asks if he/she thinks River is not happy as pilot, so they deside to ask Monty if he know of a pilot, and they get a female pilot out of it, and tells river she can now find the place/work on the ship, that will make her happy.

Scene3(S/K more familly drama related i think)
Simon talking with Kaylee: it is possible that Our mother(Reagan Tam)sent her to the school(The Academy) just to get River away, because she(River) was a slight social embarrasement for her parents, with her nearly freaky intelligence at social events.(unknowing of course of what would happen at the Academy.

i know they might not be just like this, word by word, jsut to give sligth knowladge of the events that i try to describe:-)

p.s if you have just recently happened to read it by pure chance:-) i would ask if you have read one with a scene where River comes into the eating area,(looking slightly embarrased, sad maybe even a bit sick(and not because of the drugs Simon gives her)) where Inara finds out that the guild might have broken one of there own rules by giving a special medical drug to The Academy(one that stop the female monthlies-cycle as long as the drug is taken.)
And River tells that she had been told she could not have children because something had happened atthe school, an now she begins to suffer from the withdrawals from it, by plumbing right back into that monthly cyckle.

anyway friendly greetings from KrelleK.

So, but anyway. Hey, you've posted stories? I enjoy stories! Any you might post around here?

Fanfiction generally has two major problems.

The first is it's not always easy to reply to people so you don't really get to know people that well. There's nice people, but there's also people that use the lack of community to troll and so forth.

The second, as I've mentioned, is the malware. Any site negligent or malicious enough to distribute malware to it's users, I personally would just like to blacklist. Since it's one of the biggest fanfiction sites on the net, and I brave it to get a fanfic fix, but I can see how other people might not want to. Heck, lots of times *I* don't want to.

Thanks. :) I'll try not to disrupt other people's updating as much as I can.

I say ... go ahead and upload! I loved your stories, and the opportunity to read them again here would be brilliant.

Good tales can be hard to come by ...

I don't comment that often on here, but I enjoyed your writing and wouldn't mind seeing it reposted. If you are looking for a second site to post your stories, may I suggest Twisting the Hellmouth ( ). I have never had any problem with malware or pop-ups there, and people post all sorts of fanfiction there, not just crossovers. I look forward to reading you again, and welcome back. :)
