BLUE SUN ROOM FILK
Have courage, fellow Browncoats.
CATEGORY: FILK TIMES READ: 2111 RATING: 9 SERIES: FIREFLY
I just got an CD (well, 2). Great stuff, really beautiful voices and lyrics. Anyhow, of a ship fallen reminded me of our own ship. (Sheet music http://www.echoschildren.org/Songs/Columbiatune.html”>here)

She was just a simple freighter and love kept her in the sky
From Beaumonde out to Whitefall, hope and freedom never died
She carried sundry cargo out far from the crushing Core
Crewed by Browncoats and by preachers, a doctor and a Companion
Fourteen episodes were shown when Fox pulled out the plug
Fired all the actors and they swept under the rug
What Joss, Nathan, and the others had given such fine care
And Firefly, gorramit, was taken off the air
As writers and a fandom we are not the networks’ pawns
Those with imagination must keep faith and must go on
And so, my fellow Browncoats, we can’t less courage show
Than the settlers of the System, five hundred years ago
Shows on the Sci-fi channel, released on DVDs
and a Big Damn Movie that too few of us did see
Bits of mem’rabilia, auctioned on Ebay
Reminders of loved characters, that now have gone away
Across the ‘verse’s bandwidth, the Browncoats don’t forget
From the fireflyfans forums to stillflying.net
From India to Israel the Browncoats still arise
The sea is boiled, land is burned but you can’t take the sky
Serenity is fallen, yet her journey isn’t done
A ship like that can’t go to ground with only fourteen runs
So give it time and patience, and we’ll come out on top
The networks may have failed us but the signal can’t be stopped
