Disclaimer: Nothing belongs to me, just writing for fun.
A/N: So, Leiasky, Tamsibling and I have written our own little fics about the few seconds we see Simon and Kaylee unloading boxes in the galley at the end of Serenity. It’s a little racy in the second part so I will rate this R-ish....

Part 1 Early Morning-
Simon awoke to the gentle shifting of Kaylee as she settled herself in her sleep against Simon's chest, her head resting comfortably on his shoulder. He sighed deeply as he ran a hand through her hair, looking down at her body, all smooth skin and curves, her arm snaked across his body, holding him tightly. They had knocked the blankets off the night before and had not even bothered to cover themselves for sleep, so he had a generous view of his bao bei. She was golden against his pale skin and he marveled at how she seemed to mold perfectly to him. Simon kissed the top of her forehead, running one hand along her bare back, then began to try and gently extricate himself form her embrace. He would have loved to let her wake up in his arms, make love to her in the morning as she lazily opened her eyes, kissing down along her neck and lower to the supple curve of her...he needed to stop thinking along these lines or he was never going to get out of bed. He pulled his arm from underneath Kaylee's body, sliding out as she softly moaned from the absence of him. Kaylee flattened herself against the mattress, snaking her arms around his pillow and burying her face in it, groaning sleepily. She moved her knee high across the sheets, pushing the fabric up as her leg angled flat to the bed, her foot languidly dangling over the edge. Simon had to turn away or he was going to lose all resolve, searching quietly in Kaylee's bunk for his discarded clothes from last night. By the time he pulled his shirt over his head Kaylee had started to stir in her sleep. "Where're ya goin'?" The words were a husky drawl, muffled slightly by the pillow she still clutched in her arms, her faced turned to where he was standing. She scrunched up her nose in that adorable way which made Simon want to fling off all the clothes he had just put on and climb right back into bed, but he thought better of it. "I have to go." "Uh-uh." Kaylee shook her head no into the pillow and reached out a hand towards him, "Come back ta bed. I promise you'll be happy." Simon grinned at her and wondered to himself how she had the ability to make him blush, after all the things they had already done to each other in the past couple of weeks. He crossed the room and knelt before the bed, taking her hand in his own two and leaned in to kiss her, gently tugging on her lower lip, eliciting a sweet moan when he pulled away, "Later." Kaylee took a deep breath and curled back into bed as he released her hand. She knew he was scurrying out in the wee hours so he wouldn't have to face the incessant teasing he had been receiving from Jayne over the past week, or the scowling enmity of the Captain that had been showered upon him after River had ran to him and tattled on them for their little tryst in the engine room. She still couldn’t believe that River had been spying on them, that was until Simon had spotted her from above. She had never heard such a string of curses emitted from Simon’s mouth and it made her chuckle at the thought that his curious sister had been the cause of it. She had finally battered down some of that Core propriety that lingered in him, but there was so much more to conquer. She smiled, pressing her face into the pillow as she thought to herself, We'll just see how long later takes.

Mid Afternoon- Simon shook his head as he turned to place the box Kaylee had just handed him on the kitchen counter. He knew exactly what she was doing and when he faced her again, there was a twinkling mischief in her eyes. She had already bounced around the infirmary earlier that day, brushing up against him as they restocked the medical supplies, taking great pains to put things in impossible to reach places, taunting him with wide eyed innocence. The skirt she was wearing had risen dangerously high as she leaned up to place some extra weaves on one of the top shelves, skimming the tops of her thighs and exposing just enough flesh to make Simon come up from behind and wrap his arms around her waist. He had nuzzled her neck and began placing light kisses to her flesh when she hastily snaked out of his embrace, pressing her backside firmly against his hips and turned to flash him a brilliant smile. "Later, Simon. It's a busy day. Got lots ta do." Her scolding had just fueled the flames that were licking at his desire for her, burning away at all his sense of duty and appropriateness. She had been like that for hours, teasing him playfully with her body but never letting him get close enough to do anything about it. He had about reached the end of his rope, treading closely on the edge of exasperation and need, when Inara entered the galley to see the silent, little battle of wills that was going on between Simon and Kaylee. She smirked at the sheer force of will Simon was putting forth to keep his longing at bay. Kaylee was all smiles and coy glances as she passed another box over to Simon and Inara had to admit that even though she had no formal training, the girl would certainly outshine any Companion in the talents of seduction. "Hey 'Nara!" Inara grinned knowingly as she moved to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water, "Hello, you two." Simon nodded his greeting and she noticed a slight blush crept along his neck. She was interrupting their game and had no intention of staying longer than was absolutely necessary. She moved out of the galley swiftly, shaking her head. A Cheshire grin spread across her lips as she made her way back to her shuttle, knowing that this campaign would soon be lost, if Simon’s demeanor had any sort of inkling on the situation. Kaylee leaned over to pick up the last box, bending from her waist instead of kneeling down, her skirt riding so high that he finally noticed she had forgone wearing anything underneath. That’s it, Simon thought to himself as he walked out briskly from the kitchen and grasped her hand, the box tumbling out of her grip to plunk back down on the floor. He dragged her behind him, heading for the stairs that lead to the passenger dorms, Kaylee rolling her eyes and giggling. She let him pull her along and asked with a beguiling innocence, “Is it later?” Simon gruffly replied, “Yes.” This sent her into another fit of laughter, his indignant lust tickling her. “Took ya long enough.”
