A soldier gives their life

so we may live ours

A soldier sacrifices all

for people they don't know

When a soldier dies

how are they treated?

With "Taps" and a burial

some at sea, some on land

Why do soldiers have to die

by the hand of our enemies?

Why can't we all live in peace and harmony?

As a soldier arrives home from a long battle

they are greeted with cheers by people

they don't know as well as people they do

A soldier is a hero among us all

I owe my freedom and rights

to unknown soldiers.....Thank you soldiers
