MARCHINGBAND

the drink

I got bored om my vacation so I wrote this because everyone around me was drunk and it was high-larious.

A man sat next to me in a bar one day,

In December or maybe may,

I never see the light of day,

because my bar stool is my home.

He drank a few then said to me,

"If I may speak to you freely,

I wish to tell you of what I've seen and ask you what you think."

" When I was young my father left,

and when I was 13 I was charged with theft,

When I got out non of my family were left,

so I wondered the world alone."

He tolled me his story of woe,

and how his like became so low,

Then started in with a message of hope,

to all who are like me.

"I traveled the world over and back,

I've seen some things that made me laugh,

but there are more places I can never go back,

because the people believe."

He talked about the things he'd seen,

and made them sound like beautiful dreams,

The only reply that came from me was,

"You've seen more then I will ever see,

but don't you wish you were dead like me?"

Wonderful bit of poetry here, MarchingBand. Only complaint I could put forward is the odd spelling mistake (i.e. "tolled" instead of "told" and "non" instead of "none).
