Custom Figure: Branch-Toting River "Objects in Space"
Thursday, April 26, 2007

I made River for the "Objects in Space" episode. I used a Paige head, Dru body, Dawn legs and Faith hand. I added a little sculpey under her heels, so that she didn't have such flat feet, and sculpted her flowing dress. I then sculpted her crochet waistcoat and ties. I used a Faith hand because her finger looks like it's pulling a trigger. I added some sculpey to the skinny Dru arms to make them look more healthy. I like the floaty pose of the left arm, but I kept the articulation in the bicep, so that it could be folded down for packing. I reshaped her forehead and chin and sculpted her wavy long hair. I painted her to look like River in dreamy mode. April 2007. Thanks to MAC, DST, McFarlane & SOTA Toys for the parts. You can see my other Firefly/Serenity customs here, just out of interest. They are all sold already. http://msbig.sashapowell.co.uk/mbframefirefray.htm

It's a beautiful model, but it seems like that branch might be a touch bigger than the one from OiS.

Gonna sound like a broken record here, but...the branch? It's a bit too main-part-of-a-tree to be like the one from River's tripping-out session in OiS.

Still...this is some awesome work here, and I hope it inspires Diamond Toys or whoever has the sculptures licence for the 'Verse to do something similar;D

Thank you all for the comments. They were helpful. I've now trimmed down the branch to make it smaller and more gun-like. You can see it here, along with photos of the unpainted sculpt (if you hold your mouse over the appropriate icon). http://msbig.sashapowell.co.uk/mbmainriver2.htm

Hmm, if the little stick she picked up was a big desert eagle, that might just be.....vera?

I made Wash for the "Our Mrs Reynolds" episode, where he's enjoying Mal's accidental marriage. I used a Mal figure with deluxe Angel arms, a BSG Apollo head and Starbuck lower legs. I chose these parts in an effort to keep him in scale with the quite small DST Mal and Jayne figures (at the buyer's request). He's the same height as Mal. I sculpted his hair and made his nose longer. I sculpted his t-shirt and overalls. I used part of a Stargate utility vest. October 2010. Thanks to DST for the parts. I painted him to look like Wash. Sasha's Custom Figures: Dollhouse "Omega" Alpha
I made Alpha for the "Omega" episode of Dollhouse, where Whiskey is dirty-dancing for him after going on a killing spree. I used a BSG Leoben head with an Eclipse Jacob body and New Moon Jacob legs. He has a knife, and shares a stand with trancing Whiskey.

Sasha's Custom Figures: Dollhouse "Omega" Whiskey
I made Whiskey for the "Omega" episode of Dollhouse, where she's dirty-dancing after going on a killing spree with Alpha. I used an Illyria head with a Poison Ivy body and Sin City Gail feet.
