Custom Made Figure: Sniffer-Dog River "Serenity"
Sunday, June 1, 2008

I made River for the scene in the Serenity movie where she sniffs out who is about to cause trouble during the robbery. I used a cast from a mould of the River Triumphant statue, a Dawn body, Willow right arm and Anya left arm. I sculpted the hair, top, skirt and the holey jumper. I used dry-brush to get the effect of showing the clothing under the jumper. I painted her face to look like River, staring at the trouble-maker. June 2008. Thanks to MAC and DST for the parts. Yowzah. That is some kinda detail on the clothing - and as has been stated, the face is spot-on! Excellent attention to detail on the colours and a great piece of work overall.

Sasha's Custom Figures: "Safe" Cowboy Jayne Cobb
I made Jayne for the "Safe" episode, where River's getting in his way as he's wrangling the herd of cows. I used a Jayne figure, a hat and some rope. I changed his position to be leaning on one knee. I altered his t-shirt, made his upper arms longer and smoothed over his joints. I used pins to support the alteration of his limbs. October 2010. Thanks to DST for the parts. Sasha's Custom Figures: "Our Mrs Reynolds" Wash
I made Wash for the "Our Mrs Reynolds" episode, where he's enjoying Mal's accidental marriage. I used a Mal figure with deluxe Angel arms, a BSG Apollo head and Starbuck lower legs. I chose these parts in an effort to keep him in scale with the quite small DST Mal and Jayne figures (at the buyer's request). He's the same height as Mal. I sculpted his hair and made his nose longer. I sculpted his t-shirt and overalls. I used part of a Stargate utility vest. October 2010. Thanks to DST for the parts. I painted him to look like Wash. He's holding one of his dinosaurs. He has a ship-floor stand with a peg to keep him steady. I used perforated plastic over a DST stand.

I made Kaylee for the "Train-Job" episode, where she's lowering Jayne onto the train with a remote control. I used an Atlantis Keller figure with a Heroes Nikki torso and arms. She has a remote control and a ship-floor stand with a peg to keep her steady. I used perforated plastic over a DST stand.

Sasha's Custom Figures: Dollhouse "Omega" Alpha
I made Alpha for the "Omega" episode of Dollhouse, where Whiskey is dirty-dancing for him after going on a killing spree. I used a BSG Leoben head with an Eclipse Jacob body and New Moon Jacob legs. I sculpted his hair and altered the shape of his jaw line. I sculpted his sleeveless vest and jacket. I painted him to look like Alpha, terrorising his prisoner. He has a knife, and shares a stand with trancing Whiskey.

Sasha's Custom Figures: Dollhouse "Omega" Whiskey
I made Whiskey for the "Omega" episode of Dollhouse, where she's dirty-dancing after going on a killing spree with Alpha. I used an Illyria head with a Poison Ivy body and Sin City Gail feet. I made her torso longer and bosom smaller. I sculpted her wavy hair, cuffs, top, crochet cardie, belt and leggings. I painted her to look like Whiskey with her eyes closed, trancing out, while Alpha threatens their prisoner. She has a spotlight, and shares a stand with Alpha.
