Super fine. I hate people with artistic talent. Color me green with envy.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm working on portraits of the whole crew, I'll post them as they're finished :)

CHANNAIN

This is excellent! Good use of value, and you REALLY caught his mouth (he's got an awfully nice mouth, too, doesn't he?).

If there was a weak point here, I would say the hair, but certainly not by much. More use of shape rather than line to define the highlights would have lended more realism, but as it stands it's great!

Did you use any shading tools for this (stumps, chammi and such) or is it all layered graphite?

Channain, I used HB, 3B and 5B graphite pencils, and I used my eraser to soften the gradations and strokes. I've found the eraser much better than stumps or tortillions for blending, and less messy than using my fingers :)

WILLOWY

Nice attempt! I'm sure it took you quite a few hours to render. A couple of suggestions/comments: His nose is way too wide. Mal/Nathan has a very narrow, Roman nose, with flare-y nostrils. And the eyes are a bit too large, making him look about 10 years younger than he actually is.

I do pencil and graphite sketches too. I applaud your effort!

I have penguins on the brain. I apologize in advance ;)

Captain Tightfeathers
As you may know, I'm insane, evil and twisted. With the popularity of penguins festering in my brain, I had an evil idea and decided to bestow it upon the world.

Zoe
Completing my set of graphite drawings, Zoe. This one I'm quite fond of :)

Wash
The usual, except this one took me twice as long and drove me up a wall. Blondes/redheads are hard to depict in b/w, and Alan's eyes are really, really hard to do properly.

Shepherd Book
Finished this last week, my most recent work. Had a lot of fun shading!

Inara
Usual medium and size, although this time I had to fight the scanner to the death and I think the scanner won.
