CHAPTER 1

JAYNE:

“Be back by first light, we load that cargo then.” The Captain told him as he got ready to leave. “That early? Might as well stay on board.” Jayne grumbled. “Good, hate for you to miss out on Shepard’s mystery dinner.” Mal laughed as Jayne grimaced, dinners lately had been bottom of the barrel, not enough coin for supplies. Things had not been going well, Captain couldn’t find any jobs way out here. They had finally landed to pick up some goods for Sir Warwick and Mal had said he could stay out all night. Big deal, he didn’t have the coin to get drunk and laid. When he came into the whorehouse, he knew he had to limit his drinking, after a month stuck on little no account planets this was the closet he had been to a whore, except Inara. He sat at a table and ordered a drink. ‘Hell, how’s a man suppose to have a good time on just one drink’ he thought to himself as he watched the ladies look him over. He enjoyed looking, they had some tasty girls here. He sipped his drink to make it last, he made up his mind and walked over to the Madam. “Hey there big fellow, see something you like.” She smiled up at him. “Yeah, want the blonde over there, the one with the big breast.” Jayne was about ready to pop just from watching her. “Want her for the whole night.” He held out his hand with all his money. “Well, you have good taste. Mandy is one of our best and most expensive, I’m not sure you could afford all night.” She looked Jayne over and liked what she saw. He had treated the girls with respect and had come to her for permission, she hated to say no, but Mandy was a big draw and few could afford her period, much less for a whole night. She guessed that Jayne was a spacer and had to cram a whole months worth of sex into one night. “You look like a good, honest man, so I’m going to give you a break. I have a new girl that might benefit from a night with a man like you, think you could teach her a thing or two.” She wave over a skinny young thing, had blonde hair, but no breast to speak of. “This here is Frankie.” “I’m looking for female company.” Jayne said to the Madam after he looked the kid over. “Trust me, Frankie is as female as they come. You can have her and a bottle of whiskey for the night.”

JAYNE & FRANKIE:

She rolled over and looked at the clock; they had about an hour left. She looked at the man that had paid for the whole night, she rarely got men like this, men that didn’t treat her like… like a whore. Frankie couldn’t believe how incredible the night had been, no man before had cared if she climaxed or not. She pulled the blanket off him, slowly so as not to wake him. She carefully straddled him and took him into her mouth. With the skills she had learned in the last few months, she brought him to climax, just as he woke up. He growled and rolled over onto her. “Hell girl, least you could do is wake me up so I could enjoy it.” “What, you didn’t enjoy that?” She looked up at him and smiled. He growled again and started to seriously devour her neck, slowly he worked his way down to her stomach and then to his ultimate goal. Jayne spent long minutes making the girl twitch and moan, he loved to hear her moan, went straight thru him. He always felt that the few minutes he spent here ensured a better ride later. He smiled to himself, the girls never felt neglected by him. Daddy always told him to treat them right and they would treat you extra nice. Just when she thought he would never let her climax, he worked his way back up, a little faster this time, and entered her. Slowly he built on what he had started, he rolled her over without missing a thrust and sat up. She loved this position, she had her arms around his neck, his arms around her waist, her legs around his waist and for what seemed like forever, they just rocked back and forth. Like her, he didn’t want to kiss, would put his mouth everywhere but her lips. Usually that was what she wanted, this time she was not so sure. She could imagine that this was how other couples had sex, real couples. He could do this forever, enough movement to enjoy, but not enough to bring him over the top. He knew that after awhile she would get too sore to enjoy it, but damn, given the sounds she made he had awhile. He lost himself in the heat of her, the smell of her, the taste of her and while he marked every inch of her neck, he could feel himself getting near the end. That didn’t usually happen till much later, he didn’t spend any extra thought as to why it had happened, he just laid back down and rolled over. He knew that this was his last fuck of the night, so he made the most of it…... “Jayne,” She shook him. “Jayne, it’s almost dawn. You said you had to leave at dawn.” “Yeah, dawn.” He rolled off her and looked out the window. “Damn, dawn.” He disentangled himself from her and sat up. He didn’t want to leave, he hadn’t expected to enjoy the night this much. He had been hesitant when the Madam offered him Frankie, she looked too young and too skinny to be any fun. He knew he didn’t have enough for anyone else so he had accepted. He can’t remember when he had enjoyed a whore more, hell he didn’t think he’d even enjoyed anyone this much, it was like she knew what he wanted before he did. The Madam was right, he had taught her a few things, but damn she was going be incredible soon. JAYNE:

“Starting to get worried about you, Jayne.” Mal looked him over as he slowly lumbered up the ramp, carrying a half-empty bottle of whiskey. “Grab a crate and get moving.” Jayne set the bottle down, grabbed a crate, and wished he could take a quick shower and maybe a nap. He grinned at the memory of last night, that much sex should have filled him for at least a month, but all he could think about was that he would never see her again. He wondered if they would get any coin up front and if Mal would let him head back into town. “Kaylee, you and Book head into town and pick up some real food.” “Ohh, did we get paid?” Kaylee squealed, glad that they could have some good food for a change. “Yep, not enough for new parts, but enough for real food.” Mal smiled at her and walked over to give Book a hand full of coin. “We got paid, can I go back into town?” Jayne’s mind quickly raced to Frankie. “Nope, enough for food Jayne, that’s it.” Mal answered. “Can River go with us? Been ages sense she’s been off the ship.” Kaylee asked the Captain. Jayne took his whiskey and headed for his bunk. Book, Kaylee and River headed for town, they had only been there for a short while when Book noticed that River had wandered off. He and Kaylee went off to look for her.

FRANKIE:

Frankie stayed in bed for a few minutes after Jayne had left, she didn’t want this feeling to end. She had never enjoyed anything as much as last night. Slowly she got up and gathered the bedding. There was a knock at the door and Madam Marne came in. “You have a good night, Frankie?” She leaned against the door, she had seen Jayne leave with a very satisfied look on his face. Frankie smiled. “Yes, I did. Oh Marne it was wonderful, feel guilty about taking his money.” “Well, don’t go that far, I’m sure you earned it. You know dear, you have paid Sheriff Drake back all you owe him. Now you are working for yourself, what do you want to do?” “You mean… I don’t owe anymore?” Frankie sat down on the bed, stunned that she was free of Sheriff Drake. “That’s right, now you can stay and work here, but Honey, you don’t belong here.” “Don’t belong? Marne, I don’t have any where else to go.” She walked over to her. “Honey, you’re young enough to find another life. If I could I would go with you, but I’m too old to start over. Why don’t you work awhile longer and save up some money and then you can decide.” Marne smiled at Frankie and gave her a hug. She felt that Frankie was too sweet a kid to be stuck here. “House keeping will take care of all this, you go clean up and head on home.” Frankie nodded and went to clean up, she was happy that she didn’t owe anymore and wondered what she should do now. She gathered up the rest of her stuff and headed towards home. She almost stepped on the young girl in her doorway. “Yeah there, you Ok?” She bent down to look at the girl and heard her mutter, she couldn’t understand what she heard and leaned in closer. Then she heard the men yell at each other. “You find her yet, Gus?” She looked out the doorway and saw three of Sheriff Drake’s men walk towards her boarding house. She took one look at the pretty young thing and she knew who they were looking for. “Come on Honey, we have to get you upstairs.” She opened the door and helped the girl thru. She went up the stairs and opened the door to her place, when she heard the men enter down below she quietly locked the door. She led the girl to the bedroom in the back. Luckily, Janis was at work and wouldn’t be home until much later. She could hear the men pound on the downstairs’ door. She had to make a decision quickly, she looked at the thin young girl, took a deep breath and led her to the back closet. “You stay here and don’t make any noise, OK?” The girl nodded, she tried to make herself small. She seemed to understand that this was important. “No matter what you hear, don’t make a sound.” Frankie closed the door and took off her clothes, she wrapped herself in a towel and started the shower. She wasn’t sure why she was protecting the girl, but she wished there had been someone there when she had needed protecting. The pounding on the door brought her out of her daydream and with a sigh, she turned off the water and answered the door. “Well, well, that’s the way all women should open the door.” Gus pushed past Frankie and was followed by his two friends. “What do you want Gus?” She closed the door behind them and crossed her arms. “We’re looking for a girl.” He looked her over, it made her skin crawl. “A mite younger then you even. She was seen wandering around, lost like.” “And you thought you would find her and… what?” Frankie knew what they wanted with the girl, what they used to come into the house for, until Marne kicked them out for sending a girl to the hospital. “Just wanted to offer our… help.” Gus laughed, he had come up next to Frankie and ran his fingers up and down her arm, she tried to not shudder, but she couldn’t stop herself. “You bitches are all alike, thinking you’re too good for regular folks.” He pushed her over to the table and spun her around, he bent her over and ripped off the towel. “Well we’ll just see how good you are.” His friends grabbed her arms and held her face down as Gus undid his pants. She knew she had to try and not make too much noise….. When they left, Frankie crawled over and locked the door. She wasn’t sure if the fact that she hadn’t screamed made them angrier, but she had never seen them more violent. She cleaned up a bit, hid the bloody towel and then got dressed. She opened the closet door and saw that the girl had been quietly crying and that she knew what Frankie had done for her. “Come on, we have to get you back home. Do you know where home is.” She sat on the floor and held the girl in her arms, they took comfort from each other. She hadn’t been much older then the girl in her arms when she had been forced to start work at the house to pay Sheriff Drake off. She fingered the girls’ hair away from her face. “Home… with Captain Daddy..” She smiled up at Frankie. “Captain Daddy? That’s the ships name?” She knew the girl was not local. “No.” She whispered. “Ok, do you know where she landed?” “Outside of town, but I got lost. Couldn’t find Book…” “Book? Were you in a library?” Frankie was a little confused. “No, Kaylee and Book.” “Do you have a name, Honey?” “River.” “Ok River, you feel up to looking for your friends?” Frankie stood when River nodded. “Good let’s change your clothes a little, in case Gus and his friends are still out there.” She picked out a shirt and sweater and put River’s hair up under a hat. “There, you hardly look the same.” Frankie put on her coat and grabbed her bag. “Let’s go find your friends.” She had a little trouble moving, her legs had tightened up and her back was sore. Out on the street she asked River which way she thought she had come. The girl had no idea, so they headed out to the lower landing field, in the hope that something would look familiar. Frankie moved slowly, she was tired and sore, she had not had much sleep the night before, but she smiled at the memory. Half way to the fields, she saw that Gus and his boys had cornered another young girl, she swore under her breath. She couldn’t save everyone, but River got very upset and started to call out for Kaylee. “That your friend, Kaylee?” River nodded and Frankie stopped. She looked for anyone that could help them, there was no one. She told River to stay behind a tree and slowly walked towards the men. “Gus, see you found what you were looking for, don’t you think you hurt enough people for one day.” The men paid her no mind, after all, she was just a whore. When she was close enough she brought the gun out of her bag. “Let her go.” The men turned and laughed. “What are you gonna do shoot us all?” Gus let go of the girl and she moved away. “No Gus, just you. Figure without you these two will run with their tails between their legs.” She slowly came closer. “Kaylee, you need to head over to those trees behind me, can you do that?” She didn’t take her eyes off of Gus as the girl stumbled and ran towards the trees, too scared to even ask how she knew her name. “Now Frankie, not nice of you to interrupt our fun.” He took a step closer. “Wanted a chance at some new blood, nothing but you old whores around here.” He took another step. “Gus, I think you should just go and leave us be, I’m dead tired and I’m in no mood for you.” She took a step back so that she could keep all three in sight. “Don’t think so Frankie, I’m in the mood for you.” With that he started to draw own gun, he thought she was all talk, he still thought that when he hit the ground. She missed her next shot when one of the other men put a bullet in her head. Luckily, she wasn’t the only one out looking for Kaylee and River.

PHAEDRA

Ok, that went from being amusing fluff to down right tragic. I really like the way you wrote Frankie. It wasn't the standard take on a sex worker. I just wish the story gave us more time to get to know her. I presume from the notation of Chapter 1, that there will be a follow up.

Phaedra of the infrequent postings

P.S. I love the title as well, is it a reference to the Terrence McNally play Frankie and Johnny in the Clair De Lune?

Interasting not what I expected the story took a pretty major unexpected turn. Look foward to reading the next chapter.

Not quite as fluffy as advertised, but I'm hooked nonetheless. I get the feeling I'm going to enjoy getting to know this OC.
