GEEZER

Song of the 21st Lancers
Wednesday, January 14, 2004

Decided that Hotpoint's "Death or Glory" guys needed a unit song. Keying off the Unification War as a Civil War analogue, the tune for this song is "The Bonnie Blue Flag" a favorite of the Confederates.

Song of the 21st Lancers

We are a band of brothers who fight for Liberty

Spending blood and laminate to keep our people free

When hearth and home are threatened, and things are at their worst

With cries of “Death or Glory”, comes the mighty Twenty-First

Hurrah, hurrah, when things are at their worst

With cries of “Death or Glory” comes the mighty Twenty-First

Once we rode on horses and carried wooden spears

Now we ride Excaliburs designed by engineers

But whether horse or hover-tank still Lancers are the same

The foes of peace and freedom always tremble at our name

Hurrah, hurrah, still Lancers are the same

The foes of peace and freedom always tremble at our name

Our charge is irresistible, with rail-gun, mass and speed

The fear we strike in foemen’s hearts would make a Reaver plead

We’ll tell our foes “Well, you can run, if you are so inspired.

But it really doesn’t matter, you’ll just end up dying tired.”

Hurrah, hurrah, run if you’re so inspired.

But it really doesn’t matter, you’ll just end up dying tired.”

So saddle up my comrades, the battle will come soon

Maybe on a Core world’s shore, or some abandoned moon

And when our people call us, the answer will be clear

Lancers ride to Death or Glory. Yes, the Twenty-First is here

Hurrah, hurrah, the answer will be clear

Lancers ride to Death or Glory. Yes, the Twenty-First is here

HOTPOINT

Now I may be accused of bias but that's worth a rating of 10 in my opinion

You guys wouldn't believe the expression on my face when I saw this here. Talk about a railgun bolt from the blue

Well at least I've got something for a signature now :-)

Man, such a difference between Official and Unofficial. That's to be expected, though.

Automatic 10 for anything using ACW music.

Not bad on its own either.
