The tone/shading on Simon's face is amazing. Solid and realistic. The detail in River's hand is excellent too. The piece jumps right off the page.

I think two things really set this off: Simon's smile and River's fingers/fingernails.

Both are quite distinctive, and this piece nails both. No pun intended.
