My ride
Saturday, February 18, 2006

Had a request to do a Serenity in my sepia style several days ago...Sorry it took so long..This is the scene hooked me soundly and caused me to start grinning like the village idiot through the rest of the movie....

FOLLOWMAL

M- I always think it's ok for me to call you M now, is it?

Anyway, it's beautiful and captures that moment perfectly. I felt the same way, I was near tears and then I had goosebumps when the ship hit atmo.

Just a wacky comment... it seems to me that we Browncoats would get on that ship in a heartbeat. We alternately think of it as our ride ( like you said) or our home. I've never felt that way about a fictional ship before.
Sure I thought the Millenium Falcon was cool, but I didn't wanna LIVE on it.
I do Serenity. I actually LOVE Serenity.

This is my new shiny desktop. Thanks, M for sharing your lovely work with us.

I'm in heartfelt agreement with FollowMal - I love that ship, gorramit! In the scene where they were hit with the EMP, I started crying, "Oh God, what did you do to MY BOAT?!!!"
And, to mphillips, thank you for capturing her so beautifully.

Isn't it amazing that that ship can convey just as much emotionas any of the character's faces? Great drawing, and perfect title for it. I took one look at the drawing and thought, "yep... that's my ride..."

I'm with all of you on that scene. I can't remember ever having gotten a bigger thrill in a movie theater than when Serenity came up on the screen like that. Wow. Any a very shiny drawing once again, mphillips. Keep 'em coming!

You did my request! Thank you so much! I love this. It's gorgeous.

GYPSYLIFE

Beautiful! Less detailed...well more blended strokes...I can tell a difference. It makes the whole pic...warmer? Anywho, it really works with the whole atmo effect.

MOONLIGHT

I forgot to mention. Perfect scene to pick - every time I see it, I get goosebumps, if not a little misty-eyed.

First time I saw it in the theatre, of course...I cried. But I'm a bit of a softy.

MISSTRESSAHARA

Thank you, thank you for this. I have a new Wallpaper, I only downloaded a Firefly image for that purpose once, now I feel I found one to replace it.

Yes, I felt the shiver too when I first saw the ship hit atmo, that combined with the music, shivers and quivers.

SHANNY

That's one of my favorite scenes as well. The classic sci-fi thing... start with a small piece of something, then it zoomes out into a whole ship. And I love the music playing during that part as well.

Lovely pic of a great scene.
